Being born probably hurts a lot, though I wonder if all forms of it have the same amount of pain. It doesn't seem fair that perhaps a bird breaking out of its shell has an easier time than a human child being squeezed through the birth canal. My theory is that the bird feels less pain but is stronger for its independence. Human babies have a horrible time of it and they have no choice in the matter. That could explain a lot of things? Light-hearted songbirds and heavy-hearted human calls. Or, you know, because their brains are the size of ... of a thing that is very small to look at.
