i may be vegetarian but my mother is somehow very convincing when she offers me a chicken and tomato sandwich. i was confused at how easily she persuaded me until i realized how rare it is for me to do anything with my mom, especially something as simple as eating sandwiches with ginger ale in my dorm room. it reminds me of how salinger was a health-conscious eater, except for pizza on certain days with his son.
