The sound quality of my earphones increases while I'm smiling. I tested this by smiling and frowning, but I think fake smiles only help marginally while real smiles show a clear improvement in aural uptake. My inner ear must be a conch shell when happy.
But I can't smile all the time, so the earphone-making people should invent concave earphones to accomodate for sadness.
